AMFAD 2014 & 2021
AMFAD (Architecture, Media, Fashion, Art & Design) is an initiative founded by Petra Hart that brings together artists and creative disciplines. The platform was created from the belief that collaboration and the exchange of ideas create new opportunities for artists and audiences.
In 2014, Petra Hart organized the first AMFAD group exhibition in Amsterdam’s Houthavens district. Alongside visual artists, singer-songwriters including Flip Noorman, Theo Sieben, Mathijs Leeuwis and Jeroen Kant also participated. Petra was responsible for the platform’s organization, visual identity and communication.
AMFAD also focused on temporarily activating vacant buildings and drawing attention to remarkable locations and cultural heritage through art and culture.
Following the first exhibition in 2014, several participating artists continued to develop their careers within the contemporary art world. Among them are Raquel van Haver and Anaïs López, whose work is now exhibited and recognized internationally.
In 2021, a second AMFAD group exhibition took place at Hotel Spaander in Volendam, bringing together nearly the same group of artists once again.
AMFAD demonstrates how collaboration between creative disciplines, remarkable locations and artists can create new encounters, visibility and cultural connection.
