2 years old. A shy toddler. The two words he knows are yes and no.
If he says ‘yes’, he means ‘no’. If ye says ‘no’, he means ‘yes’. You can imagine how this causes confusion in certain situations. Like: ‘Would you like some candy?” That poses a problem for him. Last year he ended up in Li-sbon, because every time he gave the wrong answer. He was finally found at the Taag. Because he was mistaken about the answer he got back home again.
With part of the proceeds from Ah Cy's artworks and products, Heart-World supports the charity Starfish Greathearts Foundation. They provide after-school educational support: homework, counselling, nutritional meals, a safe place to play and an adult to talk to. They are providing equipment for these facilities such as books, computers, toys and stationery. 2000 orphans and vulnerable children come to the centres. Children receive medication, they raising awareness of HIV/AIDS, preschool children are provided with a stimulating environment and educational activities. Older siblings are able to leave young children in a safe place so they can go to school. Living in some of the most dangerous areas in South Africa where 40% of rapes are committed against children, physically securing a home is essential. Children have a safer place.
